To meet the increasing demand for expansion space on the St. Vincent’s campus in Birmingham, Alabama, Johnson Development created a 130,000 square foot building with dramatic diversity. Above the new 550-car parking facility and four-story glass atrium entry, this brick, glass and stone building houses a six-suite outpatient surgery center, 22 state of the art labor and delivery suites, a diagnostic center, neurosurgical center, and physician office suites. Construction began in 2003, and the building opened in 2005. As unique as the tenant mix, the financing of this project required the creation of a condominium regime with four owner entities. The upper four floors were financed and organized for physician ownership. Johnson Development continues to provide the full range of property management and asset services on site.
