Today we are pleased to announce Mike Davis has joined the firm. Davis, a veteran of healthcare real estate finance, development, and capital markets, will serve as Senior Vice President and will lead the firm’s new office in Chicago.
“We are thrilled to have Mike join us. His experience connecting facility development projects with innovative capital solutions will allow us to better serve our clients across the country,” said Johnson’s President, Milton R. Johnson.
Davis is well-known to healthcare providers, developers, and institutional investors, having served those groups for more than 20 years. He is also well-known to Johnson. “Mike has been a friend and trusted advisor of our firm for more than 15 years, having helped us access capital markets and structure almost $500 million in transactions,” said Jim Johnson, the company’s Founder and Chairman.
“I am very excited to join the team at Johnson, a firm that I have known and worked with closely for nearly two decades,” said Davis. “The firm’s deep knowledge of the healthcare sector, combined with its relationships and track record with healthcare providers, will allow us to capitalize on new investment and advisory assignments.”
Davis joins Johnson after serving as a Managing Director of Cain Brothers, a division of KeyBanc Capital Markets. Cain Brothers is a pre-eminent middle-market healthcare investment bank, which Mike joined in 2004. During his 16 years at Cain Brothers, Mike was responsible for building and co-leading Cain Brothers’ real estate advisory services group. These efforts included representing clients on executing development, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions with a combined value in excess of $4 billion.
Prior to Cain Brothers, Mike was a member of Ernst & Young’s Real Estate Group in Chicago, where he focused on executing strategic transactions for their healthcare clients. He began his career in the real estate development industry, having worked for Commercial Net Lease’s public retail real estate investment trust (REIT) and the Trammell Crow Company. He holds an M.B.A. from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Miami University.
With the addition of a Chicago office, Johnson expands its commitment to serving the Midwest. Johnson currently has projects underway across the region in Iowa, Michigan, and Nebraska, in addition to its work across the United States and internationally.
