Building Maintenance Engineer
Building Maintenance Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to oversee the operations and maintenance of a new, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters office facility for a high profile client, located in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
This newly-constructed facility consists of approximately 110,000 square feet of occupiable space, includes a multi-level parking deck, and features advanced building systems—including solar power generation, a geothermic HVAC system, water collection and processing system, and other highly sophisticated energy-efficient and sustainable technologies. We are seeking a candidate with deep technical expertise, a strong building engineering background, and hands-on experience managing complex systems in Class-A buildings.
The Building Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable, proactive, efficient, and safe operation of all building systems for this premier Class-A office facility. This includes perfoming general maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5–10 years of experience in a similar role, with experience operating and maintaining systems such as solar, geothermic HVAC, and water processing systems in office, campus, or similarly sophisticated facilities highly preferred. This position is being activated well ahead of the building being operable in order to provide familiarity and training for the advanced systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex building systems including:
- Geothermic HVAC systems
- Preventative maintenance and cleaning of solar power generation and distribution systems
- Water processing and filtration systems
- Building automation and energy management systems (BAS/BMS)
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and overall building infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure maximum efficiency, uptime, and occupant comfort.
- Diagnose system malfunctions, execute or coordinate repairs, and perform hands-on troubleshooting as needed in coordination with the Property Manager.
- Utilize and optimize Angus work order system for the property in conjunction with the Director of Facilities.
- Maintain detailed logs, records, and documentation of system performance, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, environmental regulations, and operational protocols.
- Manage and oversee external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and service contracts in conjunction with the Property Manager.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies on an on-call basis as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to building occupant, including company executives and staff, ensuring a professional and responsive maintenance environment.
- Participate in capital improvement projects, system upgrades, and energy efficiency initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities engineering, or a related technical role within commercial office or campus environments.
- Proven experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS).
- EPA Universal Certification preferred or attainable.
- Advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks without constant supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based maintenance systems.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in managing sophisticated building systems within corporate headquarters, Class-A office buildings, or campus environments.
- OSHA safety certifications.
- Knowledge of sustainable building operations, LEED practices, and energy management best practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
- Capable of climbing ladders, working at heights (including roof access), and navigating mechanical spaces.
- Able to perform physical tasks such as kneeling, bending, standing for extended periods, and using hand and power tools.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Range: Highly competitive, commensurate with experience and the responsibilities of an engineer-level role.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, plus on call.

Senior Project Manager
We are looking for multiple senior project management professionals with experience structuring and leading the design/construction of capital projects in the healthcare industry. This is a unique opportunity to grow with an industry-leading development and project management firm. Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior project leader with primary day-to-day responsibility to deliver projects on-time, on budget, and within scope across a wide range of property types including hospitals, surgery centers, medical offices, and others.
- Identify, negotiate, engage, and manage project team members, including architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants.
- Facilitate engagement, communication, and decision-making of stakeholders, including user groups, client executives, and others.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with owners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of real estate and facility development projects supporting our physician and hospital clients across the United States. As a Project Manager, you will have day-to-day responsibility for successfully delivering projects on-time, within budget, and within scope.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the entire project lifecycle across various healthcare property types, including hospitals, surgery centers, and medical office buildings. Identify, engage, and manage project team members, such as architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants.
