BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (January 7, 2015) – Johnson Development has been awarded the lease to develop a new VA medical facility in Savannah, GA. When complete, this new 69,000 square foot state-of-the-art healthcare clinic will replace the existing 25-year-old VA clinic.
According to the Senior Vice President of Federal Property Development, Derek Weaver, Johnson Development will begin meeting with Savannah city planners over the next few weeks. Ground breaking for the new clinic will occur in the spring of this year.
In an interview with WTOC-TV, Public Affairs Officer Tonya Lobbestael said “We have had significant growth over the past 10 years, so we are continuing to need more space to care for the veterans in Savannah, Hinesville, Charleston and Myrtle Beach”.
A variety of new outpatient services will be provided in the new clinic. These services include eye care, audiology, physical rehabilitation, prosthetics, and a special women’s clinic among other offerings.
The anticipated completion date is Summer of 2016.
