Coastal Cancer Center

Coastal Cancer Center’s commitment to the community began in 1982 when they began offering extensive services to both year-round and seasonal residents in the Myrtle Beach area. Coastal is an affiliate of OneOncology, a national physician-led company with 1,000 providers caring for more than 640,000 patients annually.

In 2023, the physicians of Coastal Cancer Center engaged Johnson to lead predevelopment planning for a new radiation oncology center. Following the land acquisition by the physicians, Johnson assembled and contracted architects and engineers to design a state-of-the-art facility that reflects Coastal Cancer Center’s commitment to providing advanced, accessible cancer care.

The new center houses two linear accelerators with a third vault shelled for future growth, along with exam rooms, physician offices, and associated support spaces essential to patient care.

Constructing all three vaults simultaneously was identified as the most efficient and cost-effective solution—reducing future financial impact and avoiding operational disruption once the center is active. Johnson served as developer and project manager.
