Our Work

Southern Pines Orthopaedic Surgery Center

The Southern Pines Surgery Center project was developed in partnership with Pinehurst Surgical Clinic and FirstHealth of the Carolinas to address growing regional demand for specialized outpatient orthopedic care. The existing surgery center’s operating rooms were not optimally sized for increasingly complex orthopedic procedures, including total joint replacements now commonly performed in ambulatory settings. Driven by strong population growth and an aging demographic across Moore County and the surrounding region, the project proposed a dedicated orthopedic-focused ambulatory surgery center designed to improve efficiency, expand procedural capability, and support the continued shift toward outpatient surgical care.

Johnson was selected to provide development and project management services for this project. With two operating suites and four procedure rooms, the center will primarily offer musculoskeletal outpatient surgery, including orthopaedic and sports medicine surgeries and full and partial joint replacement, fracture care and spine and pain management.
